The History Of Our Garden Center

In February of 1982, John and Helen Martin moved their growing family to Woodbury, Tennessee. They shared a vision of starting a family-owned and operated business. They began with one greenhouse, growing vegetable plants to sell locally, and John also started building storage sheds. Over the next few years, they added more greenhouses and started growing bedding plants, selling them both at home and in Murfreesboro. As their business grew, they purchased a property on Bradyville Pike in Murfreesboro and became a full-service nursery and garden center. In 2003, they opened a new retail garden center and plant nursery on Broad Street, which has since expanded to cover nearly five acres.

In 2009, John and Helen’s son Lester, and his wife Marlene, took ownership of the business while John remained very much involved. You’ll still see John running around, making flower deliveries and helping out with projects around the garden center. Quality and customer service remain the Martin’s highest priority, and it’s stressed to every worker at the garden center.
