SKU: 33989 Category:

Capsicum annuum

Lots of bold flavor in a small, 3″ pepper, ‘Early Jalapeño’ is better adapted to cooler climates than other jalapeños. Incredibly versatile, they’re hot enough to add a little kick to your favorite dish, but mild enough for any meal. Enjoy green or allow to ripen to red for a sweeter, bolder flavor. Jalapeños rate 2,500–5,000 Scoville heat units (medium hot). Botanical Interests’® Early Jalapeño Chile Pepper Seeds are USDA Organic and have been verified by The Non-GMO Project.

This packet sows up to 56 plants when started indoors.

63 days from transplanting to maturity.

Outdoors: For mild climates only, sow 2-4 weeks after average last frost, when soil temperature is at least 70°F.
Indoors: Sow 8-10 weeks before transplanting. Ideal soil temperature for germination is 70°–90°F. In mild climates, they may be sown in late summer for fall/winter crop.

What is an heirloom seed?

An heirloom variety is one that has been passed down from generation to generation. Generally, the variety must have been around for at least 50 years. They are open-pollinated, which means they have been exposed to natural pollination methods like insects or winds. They aren’t hybrids or genetically modified.
