Orange-red sheaths at each node add color to the green stems of this well-contained perennial. A perfect specimen for smaller gardens and courtyards. The leaves do not curl in the sun as with some bamboos. Thrives in cooler summer regions, even tolerating mild, periodic dry spells when established.
