Cycas revoluta ‘King Sago’
A native cycad to southern Japan. Although it is colloquially referred to as a palm, it is not actually a true palm. It belongs to a family of plants known as cycads, a prehistoric plant with a stout, cylindrical trunk and large, stiff, pinnate evergreen leaves that grow in a symmetrical circle around the trunk. They are grown as houseplants in cooler climates and are very slow growing, only producing one new frond each year.
