‘Red Russian’ kale is a sweeter and more tender variety of kale that stays sweet all the time! ‘Red Russian’ is an attractive variety with red veins and foliage that resembles oak leaves. Baby greens can be harvested after only 25 days. A biennial that is usually grown as an annual, although it is very hardy and may overwinter in some milder climates. Plants grow up to 18″-30″ tall and 24″ wide. Botanical Interests’® Red Russian Kale Seeds are USDA Organic and have been verified by The Non-GMO Project.

Outdoors: Sow 1-2 weeks before your average last frost date, when soil temperature is above 45°F for spring/summer crop; sow 10-12 weeks before your average first fall frost date for fall crop. In mild climates, fall for very early spring crop.
Indoors: Sow 4-6 weeks before your average last frost date. For a fall crop, start 12-14 weeks before your average first fall frost date, transplanting after 4-6 weeks. Ideal soil temperature for germination is 65°–85°F.
