Cucurbita maxima

‘Big Max’ is the choice of giant pumpkin growers. Unlike some large pumpkins that are just blobs, ‘Big Max’ is round and has smooth, light-orange skin and is perfect for Halloween carving or other holiday decorations. To achieve maximum size, grow one pumpkin per vine, water and fertilize regularly. Excellent for canning or pumpkin pies. Botanical Interests’® Big Max Pumpkin Seeds are USDA Organic and have been verified by The Non-GMO Project.

This packet sows up to 5 mounds.

120 days to maturity.

Outdoors: Sow 2-4 weeks after your average last frost date, and when soil temperature is 70°–90°F.
Indoors: Not recommended except in very short growing seasons, sow 2-4 weeks before your average last frost date. Sow in biodegradable pots that can be planted directly in the ground. Transplant after your average last frost date, when weather is warm and settled.

What is an heirloom seed?

An heirloom variety is one that has been passed down from generation to generation. Generally, the variety must have been around for at least 50 years. They are open-pollinated, which means they have been exposed to natural pollination methods like insects or winds. They aren’t hybrids or genetically modified.
