Daucus carota

This carrot variety grows particularly well interplanted with onions and in heavy soils due to its high fiber content. Heat-tolerant with high yields, it also has a noticeably sweeter flavor and stores exceptionally well if cleaned after harvest. Resistant to cracks and splits. Roots are 6″-7″ long at their peak. Botanical Interests’® Danvers 126 Carrot Seeds have been verified by The Non-GMO Project.

This packet sows up to 127 feet.

65 days to maturity.

Outdoors: Sow 2-4 weeks before your average last frost date, and when soil temperature is at least 45°F, ideally 60°–85°F.
For Successive Sowings: Sow every 3 weeks until 10-12 weeks before your average first fall frost date. In very warm climates, carrots are grown primarily in fall, winter, and spring.
Indoors: Not recommended; root disturbance stunts growth.

What is an heirloom seed?

An heirloom variety is one that has been passed down from generation to generation. Generally, the variety must have been around for at least 50 years. They are open-pollinated, which means they have been exposed to natural pollination methods like insects or winds. They aren’t hybrids or genetically modified.
