Selected for its heat tolerance, it’s great for spring sowing. The big, 6″-8″ blue-green, tightly-packed heads of ‘Belstar’ are followed by many smaller side-shoots for multiple harvests. It also grows well in the winter in mild climates. Plants grow up to 18″ tall and 20″ wide. Outdoors: Sow 4-6 weeks before your average last frost date, or when soil temperature is at least 40°F, ideally 60°–85°F. Also in late summer for fall harvest. In mild climates, it is best sown in fall or winter for cool–season harvest.
