Allium cepa

‘White Lisbon’ is a green or spring onion, and sometimes referred to as a scallion or bunching onion. A popular variety since the 1700s because it produces dependably in widely varying conditions. It thrives in a wide range of soils, is heat and cold tolerant, and can be sown successively throughout the season. For the finest quality, pencil-thin onions, sow seed densely and do not thin seedlings. Botanical Interests’® White Lisbon Bunching/Scallion Onion Seeds have been verified by The Non-GMO Project.

This packet sows up to 13 feet.

60 days to maturity.

Outdoors: Sow 4-6 weeks before your average last frost date or as soon as the soil temperature reaches 45°F, ideally 60°–85°F, and every 2-4 weeks recommended for continuous production. In mild climates, sow in fall for spring harvest.
Indoors: Sow 8-10 weeks before your average last frost date; transplant 4-6 weeks before your average last frost date.

What is an heirloom seed?

An heirloom variety is one that has been passed down from generation to generation. Generally, the variety must have been around for at least 50 years. They are open-pollinated, which means they have been exposed to natural pollination methods like insects or winds. They aren’t hybrids or genetically modified.
