Amaranthus cruentus
Also known as Prince’s Feather, ‘Hot Biscuits’ plumes rise in upright spikes of caramel-colored inflorescence, providing a welcomed variation of shape and color in the garden and make an eye-catching contrast in flower arrangements; especially great for autumn bouquets. Flowers attract pollinators and produce high-protein, edible seeds. (Instructions inside the packet for harvesting the seeds for eating.) If seed heads are left in the garden, birds will enjoy them in the fall. Plants grow up to 3′-4′ tall and produce flowers that bloom from summer to frost. Prefers full sun exposure. Botanical Interests’® Hot Biscuits Amaranth Seeds have been verified by The Non-GMO Project.
